Oncogenic transcription factor FoxM1 represents an attractive therapeutic target in the fight
against cancer, because it is overexpressed in a majority of human tumors. Previously, we
identified the thiazole antibiotics as potent inhibitors of FoxM1. Surprisingly, investigation of
the mechanism of action of FoxM1 inhibitors revealed a novel mode of positive auto-
regulation of FoxM1.
