Discussion Most tumors that cause bile duct obstruction are periampullary cancers,
including ampullary carcinoma, carcinoma of pancreatic head and distal bile duct cancers.
Benign tumors of extrahepatic duct can cause jaundice or abdominal pain, adenomas and
papillomas being the most common.
